| Now you do not have to wade through page after page on a particular
Artist "A's" etc.. or Title name. You can search for songs by a particular
artist or title.
There are many ways to conduct the search. If any of the following explanation becomes confusing, please send mail to the webmaster and I shall try to clarify the word usage to make things more understandable. The first type of search is straight forward ... you hunt by the full
name or the Artist or Title
Why? Because the way the information is listed in the books and within the database! As in the hard copy books at Wanna B's the titles and names of artist
are not exactly what
For example: Olivia Newton-John is listed as "Newton-John, Olivia" If you do not know the EXACT way the name or title is listed that doesn't matter The big saving grace is the "%" percent symbol. This will allow you
to do what is commonly
Say you were hunting for all songs by "Bachman-Turner Overdrive", well
that is a big name
This search method also applies to searching for songs by title. Say you were hunting for "American Honky Tonk Bar Association" by Garth Brooks and you could only remember "Honky Tonk" ... well you would enter %honky tonk% and the program will respond with a listing of all song titles with "honky tonk" in them. That listing contains something like 17 songs! Ok, you remember "Honky Tonk Bar" as part of the name. The entry of "honky tonk bar" will show you the two selections in the catalog by Garth Brooks for the whole song title of "American Honky Tonk Bar Association" In case you noticed, I have been entering the names etc.. in lower case. The great thing about the search engine is, it is not case sensitive. There is no need to worry about which characters are upper case or lower. Here are some examples of Search Engine entries: Artist Search (also applies for Song Title Search) a% - This will list all artist with the letter "a" as the first character in the name %garth% - This will return all artist containing the letters "garth" in the name. In this case the search would would return all entries for "Garth Brooks" and all of the duets that he does. %the - This will return a pretty long list that has the characters "the"
as part of the artist name. The characters would be at the end of
the name. Such as, "Youngbloods, The"
